MINUTES FROM THE MARCH 31, 2008 PTFS MEETING

·                    Bev Phelps gave us a treasurer’s report.

                 $   871.79            Book Fair

$  822.00            Received from Raffle

$  350.00            Paid out for Raffle

$   472.00           Profit from Raffle

$2,788.57           Current Balance

·                    Collected 1,623 more points from soup labels. We currently have 5,173 points on hand.

·                    Book Fair wasn't as successful as it has been in the past.  We usually make about $1500-1600.  We believe this was due to the fact that the same books were presented fore sale as we had in the fall..

·                    Attempting to move Book Fair to parent-teacher conference time.

·                    Mrs. Doboze is still working on the revisions to the mural that we suggested.

·                    Rachel Browning's presentation was great.  The children enjoyed it very much.

·                    Grandparents' Tea is scheduled for April 25 with two seatings.  12:45-1:15 and 1:30 -2:00.  Looking for volunteers to work.  Lisa will inquire about BOCES making the cookies.  She will also inquire with Nice'N Easy and P&C for price quotes.

·                    Discussed the possibility of having a Grandparents' Breakfast next year instead of the Tea.  Mrs. Morrison will inquire with the other school to see how they work it.

·                    It was decided that we will have a money raffled during the Carnival instead of a prize raffle.  It's too difficult to get businesses to make donations.  1st. prize $200.00, 2nd. $100.00 and 3rd. $50.00.

·                    The plinko game will be made by Lisa, a surprise wall will be made by Cindy, a William Tell game will be made by Alicia and jars will be donated by Julie for a ping pong toss.

·                    It was discussed that we will also have a Gatorade ring toss and a body bop.  The purchase of the body bop equipment was approved for $30.00 and will be purchased from Oriental Trading Company.

·                    The Teachers vs. Students activity this year will be "clean your room." Nerf balls are tossed back and forth over a badminton net form a certain time frame. (TBD) The team with the least balls at the end is the winner.

·                    Discussed a McDonald's fundraiser for next year.  20% of all sales during a certain time frame will be donated to our school.

·                     Discussed other fundraisers for next year.  It was decided that food sells the best.  Pizza and candy bar sales were discussed..

·                    The next PTFS TBA.
