Continuing Education

Our Continuing Education Program
Our Continuing Education Program offers many exciting classes, both athletic and academic, throughout the school year. Mr. Devlin is responsible for setting up our "athletic" offerings while Mrs. White is responsible for all others. Our goal is to expand upon our program to bring diverse and pertinent continuing education opportunities to our community. Our offerings include both ongoing classes and "one-time" classes. Check back often for updates.

For athletic based classes please contact Sean Devlin.
For all others please contact Debra White.

Evening Bliss Yoga

(multiple sessions)
Instructor(s): Shannon Miller

When & Where: Wednesday January 25, 6:30 p.m., HS Library

Description: Yoga Instructor Shannon Miller is offering five weeks of one hour Evening Bliss Yoga, Classes begin Wednesday January 25, at 6:30 in the High School Library.

The first 30 minutes of the class will explore physical postures (asanas) at a gentle to moderate pace. Do what you can. The final 30 minutes will explore the practice of Yoga Nidra, a deep, extended relaxation.

The process of Yoga Nidra is truly accessible for anyone. You will be asked to lie positioned on the floor using supportive props such as a blanket or pillow to make the body as relaxed and comfortable as possible.

You will be safely guided through relaxing breath work and visualization by spoken word. In this yoga nidra class, we will also work on setting a sankalpa, or focused resolution. This practice can remove tension and fatigue in the physical body, relieve depression and anxiety, relieve headaches, reduce cravings and desires, normalizes the body’s circulatory system and boosts the body’s natural healing capacity. When done regularly and with pure intention the practice can be as restorative as a full night’s sleep. It is through the regular practice of Yoga Nidra that one can come to recognize that you are so much more than the body or the mind.

No previous experience necessary. Bring your own yoga mat, or let us know you need one when you register. Participants should also bring 2 blanket(s), a warm sweatshirt and socks for the relaxation part. Lavender-scented eye pillows will be available for purchase on-site for anyone wanting one.

The cost is $65 for the 5 sessions. We must have at least 11 registrants for this workshop to happen, and a maximum of 15. Please register with Debbie White: as soon as possible, to avoid missing this awesome experience!
